A WOMAN from Portland was arrested on suspicion of kicking a police officer near Weymouth town center.
Police were called to King Street on Saturday night after reports a woman in her 30s refused to leave the Duke of Albany pub on Park Street.
It was reported that the woman had left the pub and allegedly assaulted another woman on King Street.
When the police arrived, the woman allegedly kicked an officer, leading her to be arrested on suspicion of drunkenness and disorder and for assaulting an emergency service worker.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: ‘We received a report at around 5.15pm on Saturday 11 December of a woman refusing to leave the Duke of Albany pub on Park Street in Weymouth.
âIt was further reported that the woman had assaulted a woman in the public nearby on King Street.
âOfficers attended and a 39-year-old Portland woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and drunkenness and disorder in a public place.
“During the incident, it is alleged that an officer was kicked in the leg and the woman was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency service worker .
“She has been released under investigation while investigations continue.”
