Phillips pleaded guilty to the charge in the morning hearing, but will be sentenced at a later date so a psychiatric report can be completed. Full details of the offense will be given at the sentencing hearing.
Addressing the accused, Judge Robert Spragg said: “You have reasonably pleaded guilty to this charge and you will be rightly credited with it. I adjourn the sentencing hearing so that a psychiatric report be established.”
Phillips, whose address is listed as HMP Birmingham, has been remanded in custody until Wednesday April 27, when he will be sentenced.
