A MAN has appeared in court for assaulting a female police officer in Bradford.
Neil Bishop, 43, of Halifax Road, Bradford, faced two charges of assault by beating a rescue worker and engaging in disorderly behavior towards another person.
During the first offence, he assaulted a policewoman acting in the exercise of her duties as such a worker, by beating her. The offense took place on June 17, 2021 in Bradford.
Bishop was fined £646, ordered to pay £100 compensation and a victim fine surcharge of £258 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
In the second charge, using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behavior to cause harassment/alarm/distress, Bishop used such words or behavior towards another police officer. This incident took place in Nelson Street, Bradford on June 17, 2021.
Bishop was ordered to pay £50 compensation for this offence.
He pleaded guilty to both counts and was sentenced by Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 17, 2022.
